The Maroondah Orchid Society was formed in the month of April 1978 by orchid enthusiasts who predominately lived in the vicinity of the Maroondah Highway, a main thoroughfare through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, hence the name Maroondah Orchid Society (MOS). MOS became an Incorporated Society in December 1984.

Monthly Meetings:

When we meet: The Third Friday of each month (except January), at 8pm

Where we meet: St Timothy’s Catholic Community School, 21 Stevens Road, Vermont. Melways Reference 62 G3 (refer to map below)

Last Monthly Meeting:

Congratulations to all our members who brought in plants for the MOS in-house Winter Show. There was a huge range of varied species and hybrids making for a very interesting benching. Congratulations to Max Bomford, whose plant Paph gratrixianum won the Champion Orchid, Champion Paph and Champion Specimen of the show.
